2011 Chevy Equinox Preview

The 2011 Chevy Equinox

Even with last year's Equinox makeover stunned and impressed critics and owners alike, it seems there are still improvements to be made. The 2011 Chevy Equinox is due to be released later this year and some engine configurations (there are 2 choices) means that you will still get a competent fuel saving vehicle that's both reliable and affordable.

Price:

No official word on what the 2011 Equinox will cost, but we'd imagine it'll remain similar to the 2010 model which started at $23,700 for base.

Engine:

As we stated previously, you'll have two options here. You can go with the 2.4 liter Ecotec v4 which provides 182 horse power and improved fuel economy, or you can choose a beefier v6 3.0 liter engine which will provide 264 Horsepower.

Transmission:

Both models will offer a 6-speed automatic.

Mileage:

The latest Chevy Equinox model will bring an incredibly impressive 22 MPG City and 32 MPG Highway. This puts it ahead of many competitors like the Ford Escape hybrid.

Other Features:

Aside from a 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty, the new Chevy Equinox will provide 17 inch alloy standard wheels and an optional 19 inch upgrade. You'll also have plenty of room for cargo space and passengers, albeit slightly less than some other crossover SUVs like the Toyota RAV4 or Honda CR-V. Still, the Equinox does beat out it's primary competition the Ford Escape.
