2012 Chevy Equinox: Upcoming Changes

For the 2012 model year, a number of adjustments are being made to the ever popular Chevy Equinox. For starters, two colows are going to be dropped as options (Cardinal Red Metallic and Cyber Gray Metallic). In addition, expect some new feature options as well. Consumers will be able to choose a new 18" chrome-clad wheel option, as well as the Chevy MyLink "infotainment" system.

Other features that were previously options will now be made standard. Bluetooth phone connectivty will now be standard regardless of the chosen trim, and the rear vision camera will now be standard on all trims as well. The forward collision alert and lane departure warning systems are now being added to all models, too.

On the downside, the trailering package is now on the cutting board, as well as the rear infotainment package. The Chevy Equinox powertrain will also be staying the same, despite the 2012 Ford Edge being upgraded to a 2.0 liter turbo-charged engine.
