With gas prices continuing its seemingly unstoppable upward trajectory, one of the main factors when considering a new vehicle is the gas mileage. The Chevy Equinox gas mileage has proven to be one of the best in it's class, and has continued to improve since its first generation model.

Here are the Chevy Equinox Gas Mileage Numbers by Model Year:

Year City Highway
2005 MPG: 17 23
2006 MPG: 17 22
2007 MPG: 17 24
2008 MPG: 17 24
2009 MPG: 17 24

The Ford Escape Hybrid also comes in at a much higher price tag.

The Chevy Equinox gas mileage over long drives is even better. The Chevy Equinox has a max highway driving range of 600 miles. This compares to the Ford Escape at 468 miles or the CR-V at 425 Miles.
