GM Orders More Volts, Chevy Equinox Models

It appears that General Motors is considering placing a boost to the Chevy Volt's production targets as the firm expects gas prices to continue to rise. The automaker is also trying to meet increased demand for trucks and it's popular crossover SUVs like the Chevy Equinox.
This past summer the automaker couldn't produce models like the Equinox and the GMC Terrain fast enough, and it appears they are looking to avoid that mistake this year. GM continues to add capacity to plants, and both models have seen a 60% increase in sales for 3 straight months.
The automaker hopes that by doubling the production of the Volt in 2012, it won't miss out on potential buyers as it did with the Chevy Equinox and Terrain.
